Express Become Pakistan's Biggest Media Group

The number says it all - Express Media Group has now become the country's biggest media group in terms of Gross rating point (GRP).

Express Media group is a part of Lakson conglomeration who also own Daily Express newspapers - Urdu Edition, Express Tribune Newspaper - the first internationally affiliated newspaper launched in partnership with The International Herald Tribune (The New York Times), Express News Channel - the country's most watched news channel after Geo, Hero TV, also popularly known as Pakistan's Fox News and Express Entertainment, a 24 hours urdu entertainment channel.

Its channels are also available in United States and other countries. They also had Pakistan's 24/7 English Language news channel but it closed its transmission on November 28, 2011, citing economic conditions as the biggest reason for its closure.

The group has a strong online presence with The Express Tribune, whose website is on top in Google with most popular keywords. They also have strong social media presence with its Facebook page having over 100k fans and its blogs being the most popular of all and contributed by many across the country.

Their SMS alerts system providing real-time news and breaking news coverage, is also very active and subscribed by a large number of people across the country, though the exact numbers are still undisclosed.
