Fatburger Flying to Karachi's Dolmen Mall

California-based hamburger chain Fatburger is about to expand in Pakistan, joining greasy brethren KFC, McDonald's, Hardee's, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut. The Fatburger chain is not just fat in name but is also widening its waistline in Asian Markets. This year they would open new chains in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Pakistan.

Fatburger is a chain of restaurants founded in California. The headquarters is still in Beverly Hills but it has expanded throughout the U.S. and also into several other countries. Fatburger will be introduced in Pakistan by BIL Foods Ltd, that already owns a chain of restaurants and a chemical company.

Fatburger has already started displaying ads at its upcoming location in Dolmen City Mall, Karachi with a message that another outlet is round the corner in Lahore.

The Food industry in Karachi is growing at the fastest pace. A study by Food Connection Pakistan estimates that people in Pakistan spends around USD 1 billion every year on eating out. “I believe, food is the only entertainment in Pakistan so far,” BIL Foods CEO Samiullah Mohabbat said while sharing his views about international food chains’ interest in Pakistan.

Fatburger will be opening five restaurants in three years and further development agreement would be signed after that period. Fatburger will follow Hardee’s example and open its first franchise on MM Alam Road, Lahore followed by Dolmen City Mall, Karachi. We didn't found any reason for them for not opening their first outlet in Karachi despite it is ready and all set for inauguration.
