Pakistani Pavillion at Shanghai Expo 2010

Pakistan Pavilion is the most popular pavilions in Expo 2010, Shanghai. While, most other pavilions in the Expo are based on very modern design, Pakistan has been clever in making a replica of the Lahore fortress using modern materials and techniques to highlight a harmony between the past, present and the future.

The majestic pavilion is built on an area of 2500 sq. meters and is drawing up to 40,000 visitors daily”, says Wahid. he said that a long queues of people waiting to get inside the Pakistan Pavilion are being flashed by Chinese media whereas the neighboring Pavilions of India, Sri Lanka and Oman are mostly empty at all times.

US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has praised the Pakistan Pavilion in Shnaghai Expo 2010 and termed it as impressive and innovative. Besides Hillary Clinton, Assistane Naval Chief od Staff China, Paistan’s Foreign Minister, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, former Prime MInister, Shaukat Aziz, Mushahid Husain, TV Anchor, Dr Shahid Masood and others have also praised the efforts in which the organizers presented and boosted Pakistan’s immage in the world’s largest trade show.
